18th Century Line Dance Class

May 15 7-9pm

7-9pm If you have seen movies like “Pride and Prejudice” or “Sense and Sensibility”, you have an idea of what to expect. 18th century English country dancing is usually done in two long lines and with a partner (but you don’t have to bring one!). Each dance has a repeated series of steps, or “figures”, for a specific piece of music. The evening will start with easier dances and progress to more complex ones. While the steps are not strenuous, the emphasis is on gracefulness of execution. 18th century dancing will also benefit dancers by teaching spatial awareness, dancing in close proximity, and staying in sync with others. We hope to have a Grand Mask to celebrate our learning this fun and exiting dance form. And its great exercise!! Taught by Holly Winchell
