    URBAN TRIBAL is taught at the Intermediate Level and has the same requirements as the Zill and Veil courses. Tribal uses belly dance, East Indian dance, Hip Hop, modern dance, and many other dance styles fused together in fully staged dances. Dances learned will be performed in end of semester Haflas.

    Long Course classes are 12-13 weeks long and focus on more advanced use of the featured prop with fully staged dances that are performed in the end of semester Hafla. Students must have had Package A & B and least one Short Course Zill to advance.

  • ADVANCED CHOREOGRAPHY CLASS

    ADVANCED CHOREOGRAPHY CLASS

    Time: 8:00 pm
    

    The Advanced Choreography Class is designed to challenge the dancer and improve technique to the professional level. Class may include Veil, Zills, Folkloric styles, and personal/professional level costumes that are the dancers responsibility. The dance learned in this class is preformed in the end of semester Hafla and other dance performances throughout the year. Students must have completed all basic and intermediate level classes and have instructor permission to attend.

Our Certified Hatha Yoga instructor will gently guide you through each stretch at your level and demonstrate upper level stretches for those of you who have yoga experience. Drop in's welcome. Bring your own Yoga mat.

      Require both Package A & B Basic Belly Dance and Instructor permission to advance. The Short Course is a 6 week long class focusing on the proper use of Veils in a short dance. The Bridge to Intermediate Course is designed to help rising Intermediates put the basic steps from Beginner Belly Dance together and get ready for the Long Course Classes. Classes rotate between 6 week long Zill and Veil Choreography classes. Silk veils and Zills are available for purchase at Janna’s.

      BELLY DANCE FOR ADULTS & TEENS

      $48 for 6 weeks Basic Belly Dance technique will be taught, focusing on correct dance posture, strengthening movements for the legs, stomach, and arms. Belly Dance Level I is divided into two 6 week sessions, packages A & B, that focus on different movements each week and each session to make your dance experience more relaxed and fun. No dance experience is needed. Wear workout clothes to class such as yoga or sweat pants and a t shirt; no jeans or street clothes, and bear feet or soft soled dance shoes.

      BABY & CHILDREN'S HULA

      Time: 5:30 pm
      

      Designed for ages 3-8 and a fantastic way to introduce dance and creative movement to children. Class is designed to teach basic principles of this traditional dance and a short choreography. Classes are 30mins long. $40 for 6 weeks of 30 minute classes

      HULA FOR ADULTS & TEENS

      $48 for 6 weeks Ages 12 & up. The dances of the Islands are fun, aerobic, and tone the hips and thighs in such a easy way you won’t know you are exercising until your jeans start to feel loose! Our Certified Hula instructor will take you step by step through the basic moves of Hula and Tahitian Style Dance and apply them to a short choreography. Wear comfortable workout clothes to class, no jeans or street clothes. Bring a pareo or sarong if you have one.

      One of the most dancer friendly of the couples dance styles! Fun, fast, very usable in dance situations, and great exercise. Club Style Salsa is taught with some 2 step, Merenge, and Mambo thrown in. Our new "mini" format is designed to get you on the dance floor with your partner fast with minimal scheduling problems! Wear comfortable clothes and smooth bottomed shoes to class.

      $40 for 4 weeks Going on a cruise? Getting ready for a wedding? Or just want to learn how to dance and don’t have much time? Then this is the class for you! Each class is just four weeks and will focus on one style of Ballroom Dance so you will be able to strut your stuff on the dance floor with confidence when you have finished your class. No partner needed. Wear smooth bottomed shoes to class, no sneakers or rubber soled shoes.

      Class will focus on one or two basic concept movements each time and is designed to improve rising intermediates to the professionals movement profile. Belly Dance experience is required. Must have attended all 12 weeks of Beginner Belly Dance.

      Gypsy Style Belly Dance, Janna's interpretation of Gypsy Belly Dance is fun and very energetic! Students will need a very full skirt, over 25yrds is best, for class and performance. Class is taught at the intermediate level. Students need to have met basic requirements for intermediate to attend.
